29 players teed off on a clear but overcast morning with light rain forecast during our round despite the fact that we could see lightning strikes over the ocean to the east and north-east while driving to the course.
The fairways were generally in good condition with pooled water from the overnight thunderstorms. There was a thick covering of grass but still patchy on some fairways.
The Greens had a good cover of grass but due to the recent rain had not been mowed in the past 24 hours making putting challenging.
