7/12/2024 - The Ridge Golf Course - Individual Stableford - 5:50am

We woke up to thunder, lightning and pretty heavy rain and had a lot of doubt that we would be playing but turned up at the golf course as you do and stood around debating whether we would get a game of golf. In the end only one person pulled out and 30 hardy players stood on the first tee.

By the time the first group teed off the rain had dissipated, and the skies had started to clear with no more thunder and lightning.

Umbrellas were not even required. The rain gear was put away as it was too humid to wear it.

Some bunkers were out of play and there was a 300mm preferred lie on the fairways only.

The greens were in very good condition but slow for putting due to the moisture from the recent rain.

The fairways were also a bit moist but not slushy with very few puddles of water on the course. There was reasonable run on the fairways.for the ball.

30/11/2024 - Woodville Golf Course - 6:10am

For 36 hours prior to tee-off rain poured down over this and many other courses. The rain will have been a welcome change for many of the green-keepers across Sydney due to the extreme heat over the past 7 days.

13 players from Miranda Golf Club teed off on an overcast morning but it did not rain on the course until after we finished our round of golf.

It was however very humid during our round of golf.

The fairways had a very good grass cover and the greens were in good condition albeit challenging as most putts were short of the pin. Water pooled slightly in a few low points on the course and it was a little wet underfoot but the golfers generally enjoyed the conditions and the course.

23/11/2024 - Calderwood Valley Golf Course - Yellow Ball Team Event - 7:00am

29 players from Miranda Golf Club teed off on a warm morning with clear skies and only a slight breeze.

The fairways had a very good grass cover and they had been well mowed producing a reasonable amount of 'run' and the rough was a bit long but in good condition.

The greens were in good condition albeit challenging as most putts were short of the pin.

The fairways were mainly dry with a thick covering of grass.

The Greens were in excellent condition and very fast for putting.

09/11/2024 - Boomerang Golf Course - 3 Clubs & a Putter - Individual Stableford - 7:00am

 24 players teed off on a cool morning (16 degrees) that included drizzle until mid morning after which it warmed to a humid 22 degree day.

Bunkers were in play.

The fairways had a good covering of grass albeit a little long. The grass in the rough was well mowed.

The greens were in good condition but the grass was a bit long making putting challenging with most players leaving their putts short.
