22 players teed off on a morning that consisted of very warm temperatures but luckily also included a cool breeze that didn't affect the golf but did stave off the heat.

The Guzzlers Cup was won by Ryan Holt with back-to-back wins which should see a reduction in his handicap to avoid a 3rd straight win next week but when you are in a purple patch anything is possible, I suppose.

1. Those who want to participate in golf and other things on the Weekend Away to the Hunter Valley courses on Feb 24-26 2018 MUST have given me their $200 deposit by COB this coming Friday otherwise we will be forced to cancel their bookings for both golf and accommodation.
2. Joe Taylor was presented with $50 by Steve Buchanan that being the prize for their Pink Ball Competition in 2017. JT did not get the Pink Ball in 2017.
3. Score cards must contain the stroke score and the calculated Stableford score for each hole to be eligible for contention in the day's event. Golfers whose score cards do not comply with this rule will be disqualified from the day's event and therefore ineligible for any prizes associated with the day's competition.

30 December 2017 - Kareela Golf Course - Individual Stableford - 5:31am

18 players teed off on a warm morning that was very hot and humid. After only a few holes many players (like Mark Santer) looked like they taken a shower with all of their clothes on.

We really felt sorry for those Kareela members who teed off in the mid to late morning. They would have really suffered.

Some of the greens were recovering from a fungus/virus that they caught at around the same time as they cored the greens in September. The fairways were not in the best of conditions especially on the back 9.

Well we had prawns, bread rolls and coleslaw and of course trifle (courtesy of Mrs Tillbrook) but the chicken had to be thrown out as the flies got to it before we could.

The Guzzlers Cup was won by Tim Tillbrook and he has said that he will only plays with 2 clubs and a putter from now on as he played so well. It took the thinking out of his game.
