HAPPY EASTER

22 players teed off on an overcast morning with rain falling in some parts of Sydney but no rain at Rosnay until late morning when a light drizzle impacted our last few holes. It was hardly worthwhile getting the umbrellas out.

The grass cover in the 'rough' off the fairways was a thick causing players a bit of difficulty striking the green from the rough. 

There was a 300mm preferred lie on fairways which were in need of a good mow.

The greens had a thick grass cover making putting difficult.

The Bunkers were IN PLAY.

28/03/2026 - Boomerang Golf Course - Matchplay Semi-Final - Individual Stableford - 7:00am

24 players teed off on a cool, windy and overcast morning but the sun and warmth arrived by the 10th hole.

All bunkers were in play but some had water in them requiring players to drop their ball in the bunker at a point no closer to the hole but from a drier lie.

The fairways were in very good condition although some fairways had pooled water in places.

The greens were well covered with grass that had been cut on Wednesday so putts needed to be firm to get to the hole.

The Guzzlers Cup was won by Steve O'Grady

In light of the resignation by Adrian Adelerhof from one of the Vic-Captain positions, Darren Welsh agreed to act in the position until it can be formalized by members at the next AGM.

Boomerang GC will not replace the broken BBQs so if any member of MGC has a portable BBQ that can be used by the GC when we play Boomerang it would be greatly appreciated and allow us to continue to celebrate with a BBQ after our games.

27 players teed off on a sunny and fine morning with a light wind with a forecast of  27 degrees however heavy rain and thunderstorms were forecast for later in the day.

The fairways were mainly lush and green with occasional puddles from recent rain however the rough was very thick making it difficult to get good contact with the ball for recovery shots.

The greens firm and fast for putting.

The Guzzlers Cup was won by Tim Tillbrook - Woodville GC donated a box of golf balls to the winner.
