24 players teed off on a perfect morning for golf at the Newcastle Golf Course which certainly lived up to its reputation as a premier golf course in the Hunter Region.

1. Peter Bull's wife, Ann, was admitted to Sutherland Emergency with chest pain at midnight on Sunday-Monday as was not released until Thursday afternoon. She is OK but will need some care and attention until he gall bladder can be removed in the next week or so. Naturally Peter could not participate in the weekend away this year. God willing there is always next year.
2. Unfortunately Logan Cunningham broke his arm and was also a late withdrawal for the weekend
3. Adam Buchanan, Robbie Cunningham and Jordan Cunningham had too much work on to get away for the Friday game.

30 players teed off on a very good course with well manicured fairways and smooth fast greens. Unfortunately the thermometer hit almost 37 degrees during the game which made conditions difficult for some players especially those who had a few too many drinks the night before.

1. The Annual General Meeting will he held at the Kareela Golf & Social Club at 7pm on Tuesday 20th February 2018. All members are encouraged to attend to show support for the current committee, have a say in the way in which the Club is run and develop the future operational strategy for the golf club in relation to the structure of competitions, handicapping options, green fees and funding of the club's events such as Annual Day.
Some members are having dinner at the KGSC prior to the AGM so if you would like to join  them for dinner please be there at around 6pm.

2. Mick Connor is celebrating his 62nd birthday today. All players present wished Mick a happy birthday.

10 February 2018 - The Ridge Golf Course - Individual Stableford - 6:18am

31 players teed off on a humid but overcast day which produced perfect conditions for golf. By the half way mark though the sun had burned off the cloud cover and it started to warm up

Clearly Ryan Holt likes The Ridge and it suits his playing ability as he has won twice in successive visits to The Ridge Golf Course.

Peter Bull and Steve Buchanan were in the second group and finished with 43 and 45 respectively so Bully though that he was in contention for a prize but that was not to be. Steve won $60 in the skins game with Bully, Tim Tillbrook and Frank Fuller yet only just managed second place for the day's event which is also means that he coincidentally has come second in consecutive games at The Ridge.
