29 players teed off on an morning on which a lwarm dry morning that was free of wind and precipitation.

The greens were slow due to a thick layer of dew on them but sped up a bit as they dried oyt mid-morning.

The fairways were in questionable condition although the rough was a little ticker than usual and tended to slow the blade through the ball.
