27 players teed off on a cool morning with clear skies and a slight breeze. The weather forecast was for temperatures in the low 20s by mid to late morning and the forecast was 100% correct.
The fairways were generally in good condition with a thick covering of grass and the patchy areas that we have seen in previous games were filled with new grass.
The course surrounds were well manicured and work has been done to improve the aesthetics of the course. Much of the timber from fallen trees that have accumulated around the course has been cut up and used as borders around the course and the smaller branches and leaves removed. The course is much tidier.
The Greens had a good thick cover of grass but was patchy in parts that can probably be attributed to the amount of rain and cooler conditions that can be expected from the winter climate. Putting was made all the more difficult by the early morning moisture that had accumulated overnight..
