1 February 2020 - Boomerang Golf Club - Yellow Ball Team Event - 7:30am

32 players teed off on a warm dry morning for which the temperature was forecast to reach into the mid 40s.

It actually reached 43 degrees on the course and several of our players pulled out as they were too, ill to continue.

The course was in reasonable condition given the heat and lack of rain over recent weeks.

25 January 2020 - Calderwood Valley Golf Course - 2 Ball Best Ball - Individual Stableford - 7:00am

29 players teed off in warm but moist conditions. Thanks to the recent rain there was not a lot of run on the fairways and the greens were a bit softer than usual. There was very little water in the dams and the creeks had no flowing water.  We were told that they had to buy council water recently to supplement the dam water.

In addition to winning the Guzzlers Cup with 40 Stableford points Matt Saunders won the right to have his name engraved on the Ray Fenton Memorial Shield which was once again well contested. This Shield is offered in commemoration of all of our members who have passed on but as Ray Fenton was a member of the original members of the Miranda Golf Club and as he performed several roles within the Miranda Golf Club for in excess of 20 years he is considered to be a founding member of the club and a significant contributor to its longevity.

Those girls (fair feather golfers) who did not want to play for fear of getting their knickers wet missed out on a good day of golf.

23 players teed off on an morning on which a light drizzle kept things cool for about 6 holes. Some softies even dragged out their dust-covered umbrellas.

The greens were slow due to a thicker carpet than normal required to stop them from drying out from the heat that had turned most of the fairways brown and littered with patches of dirt without any grass cover.
