29 October 2016 - Kareela Golf Course - ANNUAL DAY - Individual Stableford - 5:50am

42 players teed off on a day that started with the threat of rain but turned into a great day fro golf.

We played off the Yellow tees to speed the game along as Kareela GC allowed us to hit off the biggest field of players that we have had for a  few years. The anticipation of a great day of golf and fun in teh club house afterwards proved to be the draw card.

The cost for the day was $25 which included a game of golf followed by a sit-down 2 course lunch.

Wow! What a Day. Some players literally hit their balls out of sight!

14 players hit off on a morning that was very wet and threatening in Sydney with lightning and thunder causing all but the hardiest of our golfers to pull out because they didn't want to get their panties wet.

We had our umbrellas out for about 2 minutes but it was certainly cool and the fog was present for the first 15 holes which made it difficult to see more than 25 metres in front of you. Players had to call "Clear" when they left the green to avoid the following group hitting up dangerously. Luckily there were no injuries and everyone had a good day. The only problem was that I honestly though that we would turn around and come home after we made the obligatory appearance at the course and I didn't buy any ice for the beer. We had the BBQ at the end of the game with the presentation but there was no cold beer. Sorry guys!

The Guzzlers Cup was won by Mick Connor who announced that he was stoked as he had not won in two years.

Another great day for golf!

The weather was not too hot but not too cold. It was not windy and it did not rain. It was the Woolooware Golf Club competition round and the the greens and fairways were prepared to perfection..

8th October 2016 - The Ridge Golf Course - Individual Stableford - 6:20am

The forecast of rain early in the day threatened but nothing eventuated. It was 19 degrees at 5:30am and if it were not for breeze that was quite strong it times it could have been a very hot day for golf.

The course was in good condition but as is usual for the us the bunkers were littered with footprints from the previous day's golfers and the greens were badly pitted from unrepaired divots. You would think that for $49 per game the course management would at least prepare the course better as a service to its paying customers.

22 players teed off but unfortunately Scott Whyte suffered an injury to his shoulder or back in the first few holes and he was forced to 'retire injured'.

The Guzzlers Cup winner was Chris Lee

Joe Taylor achieved an Eagle on the 18th hole for which he received 3 golf balls.

Find dry conditions met us when we arrived but by tee off a gusty wind made the conditions challenging. The greens and fairways were in excellent condition the wind made it very difficult to score.

Welcome to Matt Leighton visiting from Singapore and Michael Polybank who is well known to those members who attended the Buso Tour to The Gold Coast in August of this year.
