18 players teed off on a warm and sunny morning.

The course was a bit wet underfoot. The greens were moist and held the ball for approach shots but were not as slow for putting as was expected.

The fairways were a bit wet underfoot so there must have been a bit of rain there during the week.

32 players teed off on a clear morning with a forecast of a hot temperatures approaching 36 in Sydney.  The early start limited the impact of the heat until the back nine.

The greens and fairways were in good condition. The grass on the greens was kept a little long by the greens staff in an effort to stop the greens from burning under the heat. The fairways were lush with good green grass cover.

11 December 2021 - Gerringong Golf Course - Individual Stableford - 9:00am

The south coast of NSW had been hit with heavy rain and high winds over the preceding 24-48 hours. The southern suburbs of Sydney had been deluged with rain and flash flooding had been experienced across a wide part of the Illawarra and Southern Tablelands.

When we arrived for golf the course appeared dry but the clouds were dark and the wind was howling!

Motorized carts were allowed on the course which was appreciated as many of us would not want to try to walk the course especially when it is wet underfoot. That would have been very tiring!

Nevertheless 24 players teed off. There were many placed where the carts either struggled or did a bit of damage so we tried to drive mostly on the rough and avoided the fairways to minimise the damage to the course.

Most players found the conditions very hard and scoring was much lower than normal.

The fairways were mainly lush and green with the greens were well covered with no blemishes or uneven grass to speak off but they were a bit slow for putting due the moisture content.

32 players teed off on a dull overcast morning with dark clouds ominously threatening to drown us with rain at any moment. Luckily however the rain never eventuated although the dull overcast skies persisted throughout the day. 

The greens and fairways were in good condition however the bunkers were hard and wet with no rakes so it was preferred lie in the bunkers.

27 November 2021 - Rosnay (Auburn) Golf Course - Individual Stableford - 6:30am

Motorized carts were not permitted on the course due to heavy rain that had fallen on Sydney over the previous days making the fairways and walkways very wet under foot. 

The greens however were surprisingly firm and did not seem to hold the water. Putting wasn't too difficult at all.

10 hearty individuals did turn up at the course and had a social game of golf as the Captain had called off the MGC club competition due to the fact that there were less than 12 players in attendance prepared to play golf.

Just as were started to tee off the rain started to fall. It was never heavy but a constant light rain fell and affected play. The wind was light to moderate at times and did not appear to cause too many problems on the course.

The weather forecast from the BOM predicted heavy rain by mid morning so when Peter Bull, Mick Connor and Fred El-Daher finished 9 holes they pulled out. Fred was finding it hard to maintain a grip on his golf club and Peter & Mick were "just not feeling it".

Danny Yu, Jono Muhs and Steve Buchanan appeared to be unphased by the conditions and continued to play the  course.

32 players teed off on a clear morning with a weather forecast of a rain and possible thunderstorms but we hoped that it would be dry until we finished our round which it was. 

The greens and fairways were in good condition. The greens were moist making them a bit slower than normal for putting. The fairways were lush with good green grass cover.

28 players teed off on a very windy morning not quite as bad as it was 3 weeks earlier but close.. After recent heavy rain the ground was very damp underfoot but the course was in very condition with very little water damage to the fairways. To protect the fairways carts were not allowed on the course which caused a few of our regulars to cancel at late notice.

34 players teed off on a clear dry morning on a day for which the forecast was 25 degrees but appeared to be more like 27-28. Thank God for the breeze!. 

At times it was quite warm and muggy.

The greens and fairways were in great condition. The greens were fast and challenging.
