3rd December 2016 - The Ridge Golf Course - Individual Stableford - 05:45am

Chickens & Prawns were on the menu for lunch after golf.and we had 29 starters for the event.

The flies were horrible and the course was a little dry but the greens offset the effects of the heat by being a little longer than usual. The rest of the course was in good condition as we expect but also the bunkers were full of foot holes again as we have grown to expect from The Ridge.

The Guzzler Cup winner was Mark Santer. Congratulations to Mark.

18 players teed off into fog that stayed with us for the first 8 holes as did the cold weather. The greens were in excellent condition and the fairways were quite lush and green although they did have a lot of dead tree branches scattered around them. The recent winds obviously shook them loose.

12th November 2016 - Calderrwood Valley Golf Course - Individual Stableford - 6:30am

16 players were not afraid of getting their panties wet and traveled to Calderwood to play golf.

The weather looked pretty horrible when we awoke this morning and it rained all the way down to Calderwood but by tee off time at 6:30am there was only a light drizzle that did not even warrant getting out my umbrella.

It continued to drizzle for the first two holes after which the drizzle stopped and within 40 minutes the humidity started to rise as the clouds parted to reveal a warm blue sky. The temperature increased as did the flies.

5th November 2016 - The Ridge Golf Course - Individual Stableford - 5:50am

It was 22 degrees at 4:45am when I left home and when we readied ourselves to tee off the flies were everywhere but after we teed off the light breeze seemed to get rid of the flies. After 9 holes the strong winds that had been forecast arrived and made the golf challenging for some of the 29 players that had started the round. The course was in very good condition.
