The slight drizzle at the beginning of the round and the humidity did not negatively impact the enjoyment experienced by the 33 players that teed off at 6:20am. The Guzzlers Cup was won by Graham Jones (40).

Happy Valentines Day

26 players teed off of a day that started with overnight rain that cleared to a very warm and humid day. The slight breeze with little or no cloud cover kept much of the heat away but we were glad to finish.Those who played today appreciated the early tee off time.

We played off the Yellow tees and this resulted in high scores. Today's Guzzlers Cup winner was Ben Everson (42) ahead of Graham Jones (40) and Peter Bull (39) on a count back from Rob Gillespie and Steve Carr. The Pink Ball was awarded to Denis Daniels (21).

The winner of the member’s card draw, a bottle of wine, was Terry Vandyk.

We welcomed a new member, Daniel Mikkelsen,

Rob Guidi won Horse Lotto ($100) although he has not been in it that long. Beginner's Luck!

36 players teed off under a blanket of cloud that threatened all day. Drops of rain did not eventuate and it turned into a rather warm day for golf but not too warm.

The Guzzlers Cup was won by Grant Thompson (45) ahead of Tim Tillbrook (44) and Frank Fuller (412) on a count back from Graham Clarke. The  The Pink Ball was awarded to Tim Pooley (24).

Those present welcomed an old member, Brian Vandyk and an old member who has rejoined the golf club in Cameron Gillespie.

31 January 2015 - Calderwood - Stableford - 7:00am

23 players teed off on a temperate dry morning. The greens and fairways were in beautiful condition although the greens were a bit slow due to the early dew.  It was a perfect day for golf and there were very few flies which was unusual for Calderwood Valley being old dairy land!

The Guzzlers Cup was won by Ian Tillbrook (45) ahead of Rob Gillespie (44) and Graham Jones (41). The Pink Ball was awarded to Steve Buchanan (23). Graham Jones scored an Eagle with a slam dunk in the hole with his 3rd short when 100 metres out from the green on the Par 5 1st Hole. For this Graham scored 5 Stableford Points and won 3 golf balls.

The member's draw for the bottle of wine was won by Steve Buchanan.

31 players teed off of a warm day with a slight breeze with little or no cloud cover to keep the heat away.For these reasons those who played today appreciated the early tee off time.

We played off the Yellow tees that were more forward than we are accustomed. This resulted in many scores in the 40s but today's Guzzlers Cup winner was Grant Lethbridge (44) on a count back from Garry Daniels. In 3rd place was Scott Whyte (42) on a count back from Mick Connor and Steve Carr. The Pink Ball was awarded to Tim Pooley (31) on a count back from Danny Yu, Steve Messervy and Ben Collins

Kareela Golf & Social Club has once again in 2015 donated:

1. a full size golf bag for the highest cumulative Stableford score over all games played at Kareela in 2015; and

2. a bottle of wine to the Pink Ball winner for each game played at Kareela in 2015.

Our golf club will be playing at Kareela eight (8) times in 2015.

Graham Clarke drove the green on the 7th hole and sunk his Eagle putt. Well done Graham. For this feat Graham received a ball for the Nearest To the Pin (NTP) and 3 balls for the Eagle.

Scott Whyte came within 75mm of scoring his first Hole-In-One on the Par 3 17th Hole. Although disappointed Scott graciously accepted the 4 points that he picked up for his birdie putt.

The 31 players teed off under overcast conditions. The haze was rather overpowering at first but it helped to keep the temperature down. It was still very humid making the back 9 rather tiring for some but not for today's Guzzlers Cup winner, Joe Taylor. Interestingly Joe won the Guzzlers Cup in the second game of last year.

Those present welcomed 2 new members, Terry Vandyk and Andrew Dyble. 

Terry was a long time member until a few years ago and has decided to rejoin. Those present welcomed Terry back. Terry played very well (only 4 over on the front 9) for someone who has played infrequently over recent years although the back 9 brought him back to the field (7 over). We all know that feeling!.

Sam Yu who was putting in his second card for handicap assessment also played very well achieving 1 over PAR after 16 holes off SCRATCH. His playing partners were in awe of his ability to drive well and put his second shot on the green in birdie territory. Sam had 5 birdies on the front 9 holes.

3 January 2015 - The Ridge - Stableford - 5:50am

The 33 players that teed off appreciated the early tee off time that helped to mitigate the heat until it eventually burnt off the early cloud cover. It was a very hot day for golf but the course and especially the greens were in very good condition. This is rather amazing when considering the number of social golfers that have played this course in recent weeks.

The Guzzlers Cup was won by Chris Lee (43) ahead of Rodney Dixon (42) and Denis Daniels (40). The  The Pink Ball was awarded to Grant Lethbridge (21).

Those present welcomed a new member, Chris Hicks, who is a friend of Scott Thompson. New members, Danial Cundari and Nathan Donohoe, also played.
