  29 players teed off on a warmish morning which turned into a beautiful sunny day despite the fact that showers had been forecast.

Bunkers were GUR and there was a 30cm preferred lie on the fairways. 

The greens were a bit damp due to the rain and that meant that many putts came up short.

There were still muddle patches on the low lying fairways and the general dampness meant that there was  not much run on the drives and long shots.

20 players teed off on a windy morning with clear skies and no rain.

Most players found the conditions very hard and scoring was much lower than normal.

The fairways were mainly lush and green with the greens firm and dry. There were still some wet patches in teh dips in fairways.

The Guzzlers Cup was won by Tony Bedingfield who had bought a new driver. It obviously served him well as his playing partners said that he was hitting his drives well off the tee.

The conditions were pretty awful leaving the Captain no option but to call the game off after 9 holes.

The final round of the Club Championships will be rescheduled when time permits as Round 1 of the Singles Matchplay starts next week at Woolooware.

34 players teed off on a very cold morning that had clear skies at 7am with a strong breeze behind us on the first tee but became overcast by 9am. Luckily there was no rain.

The greens were is good condition although a bit slow.

The fairways and rough were well mowed and dry underfoot. The course was in really good condition despite less than a dozen smallish spots that were still a bit soggy. There were no areas where water had pooled.

The dams were full and the creeks were running freely creating a background of pleasant sounds against which to play golf.

 Bunkers were 'in play' and it was 6" preferred lie on fairways only.

13 August 2022 - Auburn (Rosnay) Golf Course - Individual Stableford - 7:57am

 14 players chose to test the conditions at the Auburn Golf Course which in previous outings has been very wet underfoot with many balls plugged in the middle of the fairway and motorized carts not allowed on the course.

Well not this week! Although the sky was cloudy there was no rain during the game.

The course was still wet and a bit soft underfoot in areas. The fairways were very patchy due to recent rain. The course is still recovering from recent torrential rain and there was no run on the fairways. The greens were very slow due to the moisture

30 July 2022 - Mt Broughton Golf Course - Individual Stableford - 9:20am

Due to no motorized carts being allowed on the course many players pulled out.

Only 10 players turned up at the course so the Club Captain cancelled the day's event resulting in those present having a social game of golf. Those present welcomed Andrew Johnson back to the playing group. Andrew has not played with us since 12 January 2022.

When we arrived at the course the temperature was minus 1 degree. Although the sun was shining there was not a lot of warmth to it. There was frost on the grass which was really obvious in places where the ground was shaded from the sun by the trees, etc. The grass was white making picturesque scenes across the course.

Despite the temperature several players commented that it did not seem as cold as it did when we played Calderwood Valley 2 week ago.

All bunkers were out of play as most were full of water.

The greens were quite slow to start as they were covered with a combination of melting frost and water.

The fairways 50/50 - 50% dry and 50% boggy. There was little run on the fairways and players spent a lot of time looking for plugged balls.

It is a Links style course. The construction and layout of the course course given that it is formed from dairy paddocks is very good. The course and its surroundings are quite pretty.

Players commented on how quiet it was except when a freight train passed by and the driver sounded its horn which only happened twice during the game.

The staff of the clubhouse were very pleasant and accommodating and made a lot of effort to make us feel welcome.

By Annual Day the course will have dried out and all bodes well for a great day of golf and fun. I personally can hardly wait for AD.

The bunkers were out of play and we played preferred lie through the green with the fairways mostly dry and puddle free. The greens were in very good condition and the morning dew had little impact as the sun warmed things up pretty quickly by the time our last group had teed off on the 1st nine.

28 players teed off on a cool and sunny morning with a forecast of no rain and a temperature of up to 21 degrees.

The course was a bit wet underfoot. The greens were moist and held the ball for approach shots. Some greens were fast for our putts while others were slower than expected. This made putting challenging.

The fairways were a bit wet underfoot. Brett, the proshop manager, said that they had 38mm of rain last Monday which contributed to the course being soggy underfoot resulting in plenty of plugged balls and lost balls.

18 June 2022 - Calderwood Valley Golf Course - HACKER'S CHALLENGE - Individual Stabeford - 7:00am

29 players from the Miranda Golf Club competed against 17 players from the Engadine Hackers Golf Club. As is the usual case the games were played in good spirits and all involved in the competition appeared to enjoy the experience, The Hackers had won the competition over the last 2 years but this year Miranda won 6 games to 2.

The greens were is good condition.

The fairways and rough were well mowed and showed little sign of the damage caused by heavy rain that inundated the area over the past 4-6 weeks..

The dams were full and the creeks were running freely creating a background of pleasant sounds against which to play golf.

 21 players teed off on a cool dry morning. It was cool in the shade but warm in the sun so we were scrambling for sun wherever we could find it.

The greens were in good condition and the fairways were in the main in good condition. There were however some low lying parts of the fairways in the middle of the course that were still muddy.

We lost a few balls where they plugged in those low lying areas of the course.

20 players teed off on a cool overcast  morning with rain forecast for later in the day.

 The greens were soft and covered in dew making putting difficult.

 The fairways were in poor condition due to the constant heavy rain over recent weeks. The fairways had not been mowed for several days and the grass was very soggy underfoot over much of the course making pushing a buggy difficult and walking a hard slog as it was like walking through a muddy bog. It is going to take at least a week of warm weather for the grass to recover over much of the course. and that will be difficult as we move into Winter this coming week.

 The dams were full and the creeks were running freely creating a background of pleasant sounds to the expletives from the golfers who had managed to find the rough. The grass in the rough was thick making it difficult for players to make good contract with the ball when playing a shot.
