The Challenge was played off the White tees and the competition was a Matchplay teams event where 2 players from the Hackers were matched against 2 players from the Miranda Golf Club. The team (2 players) that had the best 2 Ball Best Ball Stableford score for a hole 'won that hole'. After 18 holes the team (2) that had won the most holes won the day for that group of 4 players.

After 18 Holes Miranda Golf Club has won 6 Holes and The Hackers had won 6 Holes with 2 holes tied so for the first time since the competition started in 1997 there was a DRAW. Congratulations to all of those played in this fiercely contested event. All games were played with good sportsmanship and good humour.

A great day was had by all despite the cold start (4 degrees). It took at least 7 holes for the players to start shedding their jumpers or wind breakers but some came back on again after we finished. It was quite warm in the sun after the game but very cool in the shade.

For Miranda Golf Club teh Guzzlers Cup was won by Gary Barnes.

Members were reminded of an old member of Miranda Golf Club who passed away many years ago, Brian "Yappy" Hughes. His grandson, Nicholas Hughes, now plays with The Engadine Hackers. We had the pleasure of relating to him several stories about Yappy and his antics over the years when Yappy was a muck liked and respected member of the GC..
