20 players teed off on a clear but very cool morning with a weather forecast of a warm dry day.
The greens and fairways were in good condition. The greens were thick and moist making them a bit slower than normal for putting. The fairways were lush with good green grass cover. There were very few dried patches where water had accumulated in the low-lying areas on the fairways in recent weeks.
