32 players teed off on a beautiful day for golf albeit a bit cool to start. There was not a cloud in the sky. The Guzzlers Cup was won by Grant Lethbridge (36) on a count back from Mick Connor (35) and Graham Clarke and Joe Taylor and Alan Griffiths. The Pink Ball was awarded to Rob Gillespie (16) with a loud sigh heard from Garry Daniels (17). The winner of the member’s card draw, a bottle of wine, was Tim Pooley.
After Round 1, the contenders for this year’s championships are:
Club Champion: Graham Clarke (81); Mick Connor (84)
A-Grade: Graham Clarke (35); Mick Connor (35)
B-Grade: Grant Lethbridge (36); Joe Taylor (35)
C-Grade: Tim Pooley (32); Fred El-Daher (31)
The Ball prizes were won as follows:
NTP 4th Hole: Alan Griffiths
NTP 9th Hole: Steve Buchanan
NTP 10th Hole: Denis Daniels
D&P 6th Hole: Tim Pooley
D&P 15th Hole: Graham Clarke
Eagles Nest 16th Hole: Nobody. Jackpots to $48 towards next week.
